Creswick Dawn Services - 1965 - 1970

25 April 1966

At the Creswick War Memorial, where earlier ex-servicemen held a dawn service, there was laying of wreaths for the Shire, Creswick, Newlyn and Smeaton RSL sub-branches, their auxiliaries, Creswick Red Cross, scouts, guides, cubs, brownies, and the Victorian School of Forestry and the three primary schools of the town.

25 April 1968

Some 20 returned servicemen attended the dawn service with its crosses of remembrance, at the memorial at Creswick.

Corrie Dekker played the Last Post at both services.

25 April 1970

Returned servicemen from the three local branches of the RSL had gathered earlier for their dawn service of remembrance of their comrades.
Ode of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
