Many wreaths were laid at the cenotaph here at Creswick on Monday, ANZAC Day. The observance of this day in Australia’s short history was important to many Creswick people.
The march was well attended by ex-servicemen and was viewed in reverence by people on the side.
Speaking at the Creswick service, Mr. Fraser Withington made mention of a monument in Burma, to remind people of the men of the British Army who died defending that country. The words on the monument read – “For your tomorrow, we gave today”. He went on to make the point that for those who died in whichever war we meet on Anzac Day. In memory of all those who ‘for our tomorrow, gave today’.
