This years Remembrance Day Service was conducted proudly by nine students of Creswick Primary School, in front of students of their school and members of the Creswick community.
Kelly Terrill, the School Captain, conducted the ceremony, commencing at 10.50am. Kyle Williams , Luke Sawyer, Cory Joynson, Jayden Papworth, Samara Svanosio, Amber Everitt, Sarah Kennedy and Kelly Papworth took turns in reading separate sections of the Remembrance Day rolls.
Jack Sewell, representing the RSL, spoke of the importance of our younger generations carrying on this important tradition in the years to come.
The flag was raised to half mast at the beginning of the ceremony. Sarah Kennedy explained the symbolism of the red poppy and Kelly Papworth introduced the one minute silence.
The students stood proudly in front of the cenotaph remembering those who has lost their lives in battle. The ode and the bugle sounded, their heads lowered. With great pride, Luke Sawyer again raised the flag.
Amber Everitt then explained the importance of why we have Remembrance Day. Kyle Williams announced the laying of wreaths and assisted the town's representatives in placing them at the cenotaph.
The poem, Flanders' Fields, was read by Jayden Papworth and the response was read by Samara Svanosio. Cory Joynson stood and introduced the Australian National Anthem,

RSL's Top Marks to Creswick Primary School
Creswick RSL sent a letter of congratulation and thanks to the Creswick Primary School children who conducted, with great dignity, this years's remembrance Day service. The first occasion of breaking with tradition, and of the Old throwing "the torch" to the Young.
90 year old WWII New Guinea Veteran, Arthur Bellingman, told the November meeting it was a heartwarming and emotional experience to witness the reverence of over 100 children and listen to nine students relate to the full significance of the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month and the Poppy of Flanders's Fields. He thanked school Principal, Rob Dixon, and legatee, Jack Sewell, who co-ordinated and coached the children and expressed the hope that future ANZAC Day and Armistice Day ceremonies would be conducted by young people.
Fourteen laurel-leaf wreathes were made by was widows led by Robyn Chandler. These were used in ceremonies in Ballarat, the Hepburn Shire, and at the Creswick Cenotaph.
Branch members Brian Reasons and Gordon Graham assisted at the Kingston Avenue of Honour Remembrance Day ceremony for school children and Melbourne Visitors.
