Creswick Light Horse
Please Note: due to several years of COVID, the Creswick Light Horse disbanded in November 2021
Creswick Light Horse Troop, is a re-enactment group remembering the Light Horse of WW1 which started in November 1995 as a 12 man troop. By 2015 they had over a 100 members.
The Creswick Light Horse is a living history group. They get out there and people can see them in the uniforms, in the kit and things that they carry. The children relate to the horses and they'll come up and pat them and get a bit of interest. And we're out there to try and keep the next generation educated as to the Light Horse and what they looked like and all the rest of it.
They are a volunteer organisation and have some wonderful volunteers.
2015 - ANZAC Day Eve
The Creswick RSL Light Horse Troop have paid their respects to our fallen Diggers last night by lighting a torch from the Eternal Flame at Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance, and riding it to the MCG, handing the torch to AFL Legend Ron Barassi, who lit a cauldron to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.
