Keepers of the Field of Crosses

1st Keeper of the Field of  Crosses

Arthur Bellingham
Creswick and later Creswick-Smeaton RSL

Period:  1964 until his passing on the 24th September 2007

Arthur raised the idea for the Field of Remembrance in 1964, and started hand making all the crosses and his skill as a calligrapher,  hand wrote the names of those who served and  died in peace time, (including his own) until his own passing.

The first service with the Field of Remembrance was on 25th April 1965.
