Kingston Avenue of Honour Names Changes for the New Obelisk

14th March 2019
In preparation for the Centenary of the Planting of the Avenue, and the Centenary of the WW1 Armistice, on 11 November 2018 the current Obelisk will be replaced.   Our very special thanks to Peter Rickard for undertaking the mammoth task of  clarifying errors and anomalies. All names have been cross-checked to birth, marriage and death registrations held by the Victorian Public Records Office. The proposed changes, below, are based on official documentation. Descendants will have an opportunity to discuss these changes before they are published in Peter’s book later this year.

Ode of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
